Building Services Manager | Data Centres Lead the Building Services Function for a High Growth Data Centre Division
Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with a leading national contractor to appoint an experienced Building Services Manager to play a key leadership role within their newly established Data Centre division.
With a significant project already secured and the strong pipeline of work across Victoria, this opportunity offers the chance to influence the direction of a specialist business unit from the ground up while working alongside some of the industry's most experienced leaders.
This is a strategic, front end leadership position focused on preconstruction, ECI, design development, procurement strategy and technical delivery. You will be instrumental in shaping building services outcomes across a portfolio of large scale data centre projects from concept through to construction.

The Role
Reporting directly to senior operational leadership, you will take ownership of all building services matters across the division.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading building services strategy across data centre projects nationally
- Managing ECI and preconstruction activities from a services perspective
- Driving design development and technical reviews with consultants, clients and stakeholders
- Providing leadership and direction to project based Services Managers and project teams
- Managing value engineering initiatives while maintaining operational performance requirements
- Overseeing procurement strategies for major mechanical, electrical and communications packages
- Supporting project pursuits, tenders and client presentations
- Developing relationships with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and key industry stakeholders
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme, quality, safety and commercial objectives
- Contributing to the growth and ongoing development of the data centre business
About You
- Extensive experience managing building services packages on large scale commercial, health, infrastructure or data centre projects
- Previous data centre experience is essential
- Strong understanding of mission critical mechanical and electrical systems
- Proven experience working within Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction environments
- Strong ECI, preconstruction and design management capability
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing senior stakeholders
- Commercially astute with excellent communication and client management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Building Services or Construction Management
