They are a family business based in Cornwall and employ around 140 people, with their products serving livestock and arable farmers, both in Britain and over 35 countries worldwide.

As Sales Manager, you will be a replacement for one of the directors who is retiring. You will manage all international sales excluding Europe and North America, which are already managed by other sales managers. Your patch will include some existing customers who you will be expected to manage and increase sales from, and you will also be expected to grow new business. The majority of their international sales currently come from English speaking countries, in particular South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and they have identified China, Russia and Latin America as countries they should be generating more sales from in the future (I have also made a note to clarify how much travel is intended for the role).
They do want someone with a background in agricultural sales, but also someone with a mechanical aptitude of some level. You will need to be able to understand issues that your customers are facing and come up with viable solutions as many of their products can be adapted and tailored to suit the customer.
The budget for the position has not been defined but I will ensure that it is feasible that they are able to meet your expectation before proceeding.
