Senior Accountant

Vested Talent LTD is seeking a Senior Accountant for a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Ludlow, Shropshire. This is a full-time, permanent role offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio and further develop their professional skills. The successful candidate will primarily work with owner-managed businesses across various sectors, handling tasks such as preparing year-end accounts—including those from incomplete records—business tax computations, and working with cloud accounting software like Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks. You will liaise directly with clients, respond to queries, and correspond with HMRC and other relevant agencies. The role involves visiting client sites as required and managing workloads to meet tight deadlines. You will work closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners, supporting the growth of the practice and fostering long-term client relationships. This is a dynamic, client-facing position ideal for an individual confident in managing accounts in a practice setting, with experience in financial accounting and excellent communication skills.

• Relevant experience in an accountancy practice environment
• Experience with preparing year-end accounts and business tax computations
• Proficiency in cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks
• Effective communication and client management skills
• Confidence in liaising with HMRC and other agencies
• Previous experience working with owner-managed businesses is desirable
• Qualifications: AAT, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, newly qualified, or fully qualified
