Construction Estimator

FRS Recruitment are partnering with a leading specialist construction contractor to recruit an Estimator for their growing commercial team. This can be based Fully Remote or from Office in Cork.

This is a remote opportunity, offering the flexibility to work from home while supporting the delivery of specialist construction projects across Ireland and Europe. The successful candidate must have previous estimating (Fit-Out) experience within the Irish or UK construction industry and will ideally have exposure to controlled environments, cleanrooms, pharmaceutical or high-specification fit-out projects.

This well-established contractor has built an excellent reputation delivering specialist construction and internal fit-out solutions across the Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Food Manufacturing and High-End Construction sectors. Their projects involve technically demanding environments, specialist construction systems and collaboration with many of the industry's leading contractors and clients.

Working alongside an experienced commercial team, you will prepare competitive tenders for specialist fit-out packages including drylining, ceilings, partitions, fire-rated systems and associated interior works. You will work closely with the design, procurement and project delivery teams, playing a key role in securing new projects and supporting their successful commercial delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Complete accurate quantity take-offs for specialist fit-out packages.
• Review tender documentation and identify commercial risks.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare competitive tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Support value engineering and alternative construction solutions.
• Assist with project handovers following successful tender awards.
• Maintain estimating records, cost databases and benchmarking information.

Requirements

• Previous estimating experience within the Irish or UK construction industry.
• Experience pricing specialist fit-out or interior construction packages.
• Controlled environments, cleanroom or pharmaceutical project experience highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Good commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Proficient using Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Experience within Data Centre, Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences projects advantageous.

Salary & Benefits

• €55,000 - €70,000 depending on experience.
