Clarity Partners is looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Officer to join a construction business based in CBD, delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, residential and social infrastructure projects.
This is a hands-on role within the finance function, where you will take ownership of core accounting activities and contribute to the smooth and accurate management of day-to-day financial operations. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will support transactional accounting, reconciliations, reporting and month-end activities while helping maintain strong financial controls and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Process invoices, payments, receipts and other financial transactions accurately
- Perform bank, balance sheet and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are appropriately coded
- Manage supplier and stakeholder queries and resolve account-related issues
- Prepare and assist with payment runs
- Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on discrepancies where required
- Support the wider finance team with reporting, analysis and ad hoc accounting requirements
- Assist with maintaining effective financial controls and processes
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies
About You
- Previous experience as a Senior Accounts Officer or in a similar accounting position
- Strong experience across accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Sound knowledge of reconciliations, payment processing and month-end activities
- Experience within property, construction, development or a project-based environment will be highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative finance team
- Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting systems capability
