Technical Translation Reviewer (Contract)

Responsibilities

The following are samples of day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Technical Translation Reviewer:

• Review translations of a variety of material, particularly marketing and technical documentation such as blog posts, reports, presentation slides and sales tools from English to Japanese, with attention to fact and nuance, so that the intent and tone of the original meaning is preserved.
• Edit, standardize, proofread, revise and finalize translated material prepared by other employees and contractors.
• Organize translated material and finalize translation according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
• Prepare project reports and documentation.
• Research legal, technical and industry phraseology pertinent to the assigned projects.
• Consult with experts in specialist areas; develop and retain specialist knowledge on areas of translation.

Requirements

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Japanese
• Translation Experience - at least 3-years’ experience in translation in the Information Technology industry. Some experience in Cyber Security would be an advantage.
• Technical Knowledge - technical translation and technical writing, especially in legal and engineering settings.
• Japanese and English-Speaking Countries’ Business Culture and Custom Knowledge - Writing and Communicating effectively with others
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
• Teamwork Skills
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
