Director – Acquisition (Real Estate)

About the Role

The Head of Acquisitions will lead all investment activities related to acquiring and disposing of real estate assets across Japan. This role involves sourcing and executing on-market and off-market transactions while collaborating with various internal teams to maximize investment returns. The successful candidate will focus on core, core-plus, and value-add real estate assets.

Responsibilities

• Source and underwrite investment opportunities, presenting them to fund management teams for consideration.
• Negotiate terms with counterparties and collaborate with internal teams to structure and close acquisitions and dispositions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships within the brokerage and investment community to facilitate the implementation of investment strategies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for real estate acquisitions and dispositions, ensuring constant interaction with investment professionals.
• Continuously improve the underwriting model to predict the performance of potential acquisitions accurately.
• Prepare for investment committee presentations regarding proposed acquisitions and dispositions.
• Provide feedback and creative strategies to senior management to enhance the investment performance of fund mandates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate Management, or a related field.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in originating, facilitating, and closing real estate acquisitions and dispositions for institutional investors.
• Strong understanding of the Asian real estate and investment markets.
• Proven track record of enhancing investment performance through strategic acquisitions and dispositions.
• Established relationships with brokers, owners, and investors in Japan.
