Senior Dental Assistant

The boutique, high-end practice is well located in the Auckland CBD, only a few minutes' walk from the new Britomart train and transport hub, as well as the Ferry Terminal.
 
We're looking for a skilled, experienced, and committed Dental Assistant to work with the owner and lead dentist, as well as their associate dentist.  Talent, speed, accuracy, and a caring nature are all especially important, but so are attitude, presentation, personality, strong English language skills, and a passion for learning and growth, as the owner is committed to quality mentoring, training, and career advancement.
 
 
About the Role

You'll be an integral part of the small but talented clinical team, supporting a range of general and advanced treatments in a modern, well-equipped environment. The ideal candidate will be:

• A skilled and experienced NZ-based dental assistant (3+ years)
• Highly capable across all general chairside procedures
• Confident with active four-handed dentistry (preferred, not essential)
• Well-versed in NZ infection control protocols and sterilisation processes
• Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented
• A clear communicator with excellent spoken English and strong patient rapport
• Reliable, punctual, and a genuine team-player with initiative

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has 3+ years' experience as a dental assistant in NZ (or Australia, UK, Canada, or USA)
• Is confident assisting with more complex procedures (e.g., root canals, CEREC, Invisalign)
• Is tidy, efficient, and maintains high clinical, hygiene & sterilisation standards
• A positive, can-do attitude prepared to help the team when and where required
• Works well under pressure, can follow instructions carefully, and can also work independently
• Communicates clearly and empathetically with both patients and colleagues
• Ideally has some experience on reception/front desk and with dental software (preferred, not essential)

Pay & Hours

• Exceptionally good hourly rate for the 'right' person, based on skills and experience
• Full-time: approx. 40 hours across five weekdays. No late nights or weekends!
