Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Technician
Kildare | €50,000–€59,000 DOE + Bonus + Pension + Healthcare

The Company

My client is a leading multinational beverage manufacturer supplying products across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Following significant investment and a major site expansion, they are now looking to add a Mechanical Fitter to their engineering team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment, reducing downtime and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently in line with GMP, HACCP and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and continuous improvement activities.
  • Diagnose faults and minimise downtime through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Repair and maintain high-speed manufacturing, packaging and process equipment.
  • Work on pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Fabricate mechanical components, replace seals and align pumps as required.
  • Record maintenance activities accurately using the CMMS system.
  • Support asset reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Need

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, Mechatronics or similar.
  • 3+ years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with experience of high-speed production equipment.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet or Profibus is desirable.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and ATEX environments would be an advantage.
  • Good IT skills and experience using CMMS or ERP systems.
