Apply directHorizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join a corporate finance team and support the accurate, timely processing of high-volume accounts payable transactions. This role plays an important part in maintaining strong financial operations by ensuring invoices are processed efficiently, records remain accurate, and internal stakeholders receive responsive, professional support. The successful candidate will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and strengthen accounting processes across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions accurately and on schedule.
- Manage invoice workflows through Yardi Procure-to-Pay (P2P).
- Review, validate, code, and reconcile invoices in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Coordinate timely payments and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain organized electronic records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with account reconciliations and reporting activities.
- Support team operations by providing coverage during absences and peak workload periods.
- Partner with internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient invoice processing.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across systems, workflows, and team collaboration.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
- Support organizational commitments to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, or a related accounting role.
- Experience managing high-volume invoice processing environments.
- Hands-on experience with Yardi Procure-to-Pay (P2P) is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage workload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve payment-related issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and team members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Positive, adaptable attitude with the ability to learn quickly and contribute immediately.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check prior to employment.
Remuneration:
- $60,000 - $75,000 Base + Bonus
