Watchmaker | Luxury Watch Authentication

MAYDAY Recruitment is excited to be partnering with a global leader in luxury authentication to recruit two experienced Watchmakers to join a newly established team in Sydney.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about luxury timepieces who enjoys the technical precision of watchmaking and authentication. While repair experience is highly regarded, this role focuses on the inspection, authentication and quality assessment of luxury watches rather than servicing or repairs.
Working within a collaborative authentication team, you will inspect and authenticate a wide range of modern and vintage luxury watches, ensuring every timepiece meets the highest standards before reaching its new owner.

Key responsibilities include:

• Inspecting and authenticating luxury watches across a broad range of brands
• Carefully opening and reassembling watch cases to examine internal components
• Assessing movements, functionality, condition and originality
• Identifying missing, damaged or non-original components
• Recording detailed inspection notes and maintaining accurate authentication records using internal systems
• Handling high-value timepieces with exceptional care throughout the inspection process
• Ensuring watches are presented in excellent condition following inspection
• Working closely with the wider operations team to deliver an exceptional customer experience

About You:

We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for horology and a meticulous eye for detail.

• Experience in luxury watchmaking, authentication or repair
• Strong knowledge of modern and vintage luxury watch brands
• Confidence opening, inspecting and reassembling watch cases
• An understanding of watch movements, components and authentication techniques
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong computer literacy and confidence using digital systems
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
