Litigation Paralegal

Nesco Resource has partnered with a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Nassau County, NY in their pursuit to hire a Paralegal with litigation experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative legal team supporting complex and high-level matters.

• Position Type: Full-time, permanent
• Location: Fully onsite in Garden City, NY
• Compensation: $95,000 – $115,000 annually, commensurate with experience
• Qualifications: Paralegal certificate or degree in Paralegal Studies preferred, with 5+ years of litigation experience

• Prepare, serve, and file court papers in connection with ongoing litigation matters
•  Coordinate and manage filings in collaboration with process servers
• Engage in ongoing client communication to ensure timely case coordination and support
• Prepare and assist with responses to firm audit requests
• Draft correspondence and support attorneys with calendaring and scheduling
• Handle electronic filing and service of legal documents for New Jersey, New York and Connecticut state courts, All Federal Courts, Surrogate's Court and Bankruptcy Court
• Legal research
• Assist in organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
• Cite check and shepardize briefs
   

• Paralegal certificate or degree in Paralegal Studies preferred, with 5+ years of litigation experience
• Ability to work 9:30 am to 5:30 pm; must be available for overtime
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of legal research methods
• Strong typing skills, thorough and accurate
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Familiarity with Elite 3E Workplace Time Entry timekeeping program or similar program
• Familiarity with NetDocuments document management system or similar system
• Well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
