Technical Project Manager

Monroe Consulting Group is partnering with a leading Fintech organisation in the sector to hire a Technical Project Manager. This opportunity is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
 

Position Overview

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology platforms and strategic digital initiatives.
Drive collaboration between business and technology teams to ensure scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions that support organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Delivery: Own the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for system upgrades, from initial requirements gathering (BRDs/FRDs) to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production rollout.
• Scalable Feature Delivery: Lead the development and rollout of customer-centric technology features and integrations with vendor systems.
• Market Connectivity: Coordinate the integration of new APIs and protocol updates across multiple external platforms and services.
• Risk & Performance Monitoring: Lead initiatives to optimise system latency and throughput. Oversee the deployment of AI-driven capabilities for real-time monitoring and anomaly detection.
• Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the primary liaison between Business Users and IT to prioritise feature delivery.
• Third-Party Integrations: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for onboarding, payment, and data integration initiatives.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Project Management roles.
• At least 3 years of experience within FinTech, wealth management, capital markets, financial services technology, or a related environment.
• Proven success leading teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies in a high-pressure environment.

Technical / Functional Expertise

• Expert-level knowledge of trading lifecycles, including order types, market data feeds, clearing, and settlement.
• Strong understanding of FIX 4.2/4.4/5.0, Binary protocols (SBE, ITCH/OUCH), and Linux-based low-latency environments.
• Familiarity with React Native or Flutter for mobile applications.
• Experience with Node.js and/or .NET Core for high-concurrency backend systems.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis for transactional systems.
• Experience managing REST and WebSocket APIs.
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and biometric authentication.
• Experience managing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Experience overseeing AI-driven monitoring, surveillance, or anomaly detection solutions.
