Job Location: Doral
Pay and Hours Temp to Hire Salary Range / Rate: $85K – $105K
Position Summary
The Food Safety & Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs within the salmon processing facility. This position will ensure that products are manufactured, handled, stored, and shipped in accordance with company standards, customer specifications, FDA/USDA requirements, HACCP guidelines, and applicable seafood industry regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in food manufacturing or seafood processing, and a solid understanding of HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the plant’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP plans and prerequisite programs.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor production processes to ensure food safety and product quality standards are consistently met.
- Conduct regular inspections of production areas, equipment, products, and processes.
- Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, allergen control, and microbiological testing programs.
- Review and maintain food safety and quality documentation, records, and reports.
- Investigate product quality issues, customer complaints, non-conformances, and food safety incidents.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Operations teams to identify and resolve quality and food safety concerns.
- Establish and monitor quality specifications for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
- Verify temperature controls throughout receiving, processing, storage, and shipping.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of salmon and other seafood products to maintain product integrity and food safety.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
- Maintain relationships and communication with regulatory agencies, customers, laboratories, and third-party auditors as needed.
- Train and coach employees on GMPs, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and quality procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of food safety regulations, seafood industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Review production and quality data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all food safety and quality records.
- Participate in product traceability, mock recalls, and recall procedures when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, seafood processing, or a related industry.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a food safety or quality role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Seafood or salmon processing experience.
- SQF, BAP, ASC and other GFSI certification experience.
- Experience with environmental monitoring programs.
- Experience with microbiological testing and laboratory coordination.
- Experience managing customer specifications and audits.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical & Work Environment
- Work is performed in a refrigerated seafood processing environment.
- Ability to work around wet floors, cold temperatures, machinery, noise, and seafood processing equipment.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to wear required PPE and follow all plant safety and food safety requirements.
- Must be comfortable working on the production floor and interacting directly with production employees and supervisors.

Salary Range / Rate: $85K – $105K
• 401(k) + Health Insurance
• 15 Days of Vacation

• Full-Time — must be available to work 1 Saturday per month

HACCP is required.
