Reporting to a senior tax leader, the Tax Analyst will support corporate tax and indirect tax compliance activities across multiple entities. The successful candidate will assist with tax reporting, tax return preparation, audit support, and ongoing tax projects while developing technical expertise and gaining exposure to a broad range of tax matters.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and supporting schedules
- Support the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Prepare tax-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses
- Assist with the preparation of corporate tax filings, elections, and other compliance-related documentation
- Support tax audits and reviews by gathering information and maintaining organized supporting documentation
- Respond to routine tax-related inquiries from internal stakeholders and provide reporting support as required
- Maintain tax records, schedules, trackers, and documentation to support compliance and reporting requirements
- Participate in tax process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and documentation standards
- Conduct tax research and assist with special projects, analyses, and ad hoc requests
- Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to support tax reporting and compliance activities
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation completed or actively pursuing designation preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in tax, accounting, or a related finance function
- Exposure to Canadian corporate tax and indirect tax compliance is considered an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Experience with ERP systems and tax preparation software is considered an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
- Self-motivated with a collaborative approach to working across teams
