Apply directMAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Mobile Funeral Arranger based in Adamstown, Newcastle.
This is a unique opportunity for a compassionate, highly organised and self-motivated individual who enjoys working autonomously and building meaningful relationships with families across the Newcastle region. You will travel throughout the region to meet with families in their homes or other appropriate locations, representing the brand with professionalism, care and empathy during some of life's most difficult moments.
The Role
As a Mobile Funeral Arranger, you will be responsible for meeting with families across the Newcastle region to understand their wishes and guide them through the funeral arrangement process.
Based out of Adamstown, you will spend much of your time on the road travelling to meet families. When you are not out meeting with families, you will be based at the Adamstown location, supporting the team and assisting with arrangements and day-to-day operations.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, managing their own schedule and prioritising competing demands.
Key responsibilities include:

Meeting with families across the Newcastle region to arrange funeral services in line with their wishes

Travelling throughout the region to meet families in their homes and other suitable locations

Building trusted relationships with families and providing compassionate, personalised support

Representing the funeral home and brand professionally within the local community

Coordinating funeral arrangements and ensuring all details are managed accurately

Managing your own diary, appointments and travel schedule

Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure services are delivered seamlessly

Supporting the Adamstown team and location operations when not meeting with families

Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and quality standards

Maintaining a high standard of customer service throughout the entire arrangement process
About You
We're looking for someone who is self-motivated, highly organised and comfortable working autonomously. You will enjoy being out and about, meeting different people and managing your own day while still being connected to a supportive team.
You will bring:

Experience in a service-focused, customer-facing or relationship-driven environment

A current unrestricted driver's licence and confidence driving throughout the Newcastle region

Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule

Excellent organisation and time management skills

Strong communication skills with a calm, compassionate and empathetic approach

The ability to build trust and rapport with people during sensitive and emotional situations

High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple arrangements simultaneously

A professional and polished presentation, as you will be representing the brand within the community

Sensitivity and respect for diverse values, beliefs and cultural practices

Comfortable working in circumstances involving death, grief and deceased persons
Desirable:

Experience within funeral services or an understanding of the funeral industry

Background in hospitality, retail, healthcare, aged care, community services or another people-focused industry

Experience working in a mobile, field-based or autonomous role
