Associate Director - Contaminated Land

My client is a large multidisciplinary consultancy with one of the biggest environmental teams in Perth. Their contaminated land and remediation group has been going a long time, has a solid reputation for technical quality and has picked up industry awards along the way. They are now looking for a senior person to help lead it.
 
This is a mix of technical leadership and team leadership. You will still be close to the work, but the focus is on winning and overseeing projects, holding the technical quality line, looking after key clients and bringing on the people underneath you.
 
The work
 

• Contaminated sites investigation and remediation projects ranging from around $20k up to $2 million
• Clients across State and Federal government, utilities, mining, oil and gas, and defence
• Long term decommissioning work with a major oil and gas client, with years of pipeline behind it
• Acting as the contamination and remediation interface on large multidisciplinary design and construction projects

 
What you will be doing
 

• Leading and technically reviewing a mix of small and large projects
• Preparing fee bids and proposals, and winning work
• Building and holding client relationships that bring repeat business
• Mentoring and developing the wider team
• Getting involved in technical practice groups and conferences nationally

 
What you will need
 

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Solid consulting experience in contaminated land, ideally at Associate or Technical Director level
• Strong knowledge of the WA regulatory framework, including a track record of getting sites reclassified under the Contaminated Sites Act 2003
• Demonstrated client management and a history of growing a client portfolio
• The appetite to lead and mentor a team, not just deliver projects
