The Role

A Senior Associate position within a defendant insurance practice focused on construction related disputes and coverage work. The role involves handling a mix of defence and advisory matters, with exposure to high value and technically complex claims.

Responsibilities include managing a file load, overseeing litigation strategy, drafting pleadings and advice, coordinating with experts and counsel, and maintaining direct client relationships.

The position sits within a large national team, providing access to significant matters while retaining autonomy over day to day carriage.

The Candidate

Suitable for a lawyer with 4+ years’ experience in defendant insurance or construction litigation. Candidates without insurance experience but with a strong construction disputes background are still relevant.

The candidate can manage matters with limited supervision, demonstrates strong technical ability and maintains commercially focused client relationships. They are structured, responsive and capable of handling competing demands without relying on excessive oversight.
