Senior Developer (.NET Platform)

Senior Developer - .NET & Frontend Technologies 
Location: Melbourne CBD
Contract: 12-month contract

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer with strong capabilities across .NET platform and frontend technologies to support a major cloud transformation initiative within a high-impact government environment.
This role is open to Australian Citizens only.

You will play a key role in delivering the East Burwood Data Centre Exit project, which involves migrating legacy .NET applications from on-premises infrastructure to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Project Overview

• Migration of approximately 20 legacy .NET applications
• Estimated delivery effort of ~80 FTE months
• Includes mission-critical systems supporting Victorian public schools
• Delivery through a phased migration approach (2–4 applications at a time)
• Focus on re-hosting with minimal enhancements

A detailed application analysis phase will be conducted in consultation with stakeholders to inform:

• Future enhancements
• Managed services transition
• Long-term re-platforming strategy

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support migration of .NET applications to Azure
• Work across both backend (.NET Core) and frontend technologies
• Contribute to application analysis, remediation, and uplift activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess application usage and functionality
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within complex environments
• Ensure stability and continuity during migration

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Microsoft .NET Core
• Frontend development experience in .NET-based applications
• Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with API and enterprise integrations
• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work within complex legacy systems
