Overview

Client is seeking a Portfolio Lead to manage a portfolio of IT programs and projects, ensuring strategic alignment, effective resource utilization, financial stewardship, and measurable business value. This role will oversee portfolio planning, prioritization, governance, risk management, benefits realization, and executive-level reporting.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the IT portfolio strategy aligned with enterprise and business objectives.
  • Maintain, evaluate, and prioritize programs and projects based on strategic value, return on investment, risk, and available capacity.
  • Develop and manage portfolio and program roadmaps to optimize sequencing and value delivery.
  • Conduct portfolio reviews and recommend the continuation, modification, or termination of initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain portfolio governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor portfolio financial performance, investment approvals, budgets, forecasts, and expected business value.
  • Partner with Finance and Procurement on capital planning, budget forecasting, and governance requirements.
  • Track portfolio-level risks, dependencies, resource constraints, benefits, costs, schedules, and performance.
  • Oversee resource planning, allocation, and conflict resolution across programs and projects.
  • Define and track portfolio KPIs, dashboards, and health assessments.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on portfolio status, ROI, risks, dependencies, and benefit realization.
  • Chair steering committee meetings and support strategic investment decisions.
  • Partner with project managers and delivery teams to resolve escalations and remove delivery barriers.
  • Ensure portfolio initiatives comply with enterprise, regulatory, and security standards.
  • Collaborate with IT business partners, executive sponsors, business leaders, project managers, Finance, Procurement, and Enterprise Architecture.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • Experience leading an IT portfolio containing multiple programs and projects.
  • Strong portfolio and program planning, prioritization, and governance experience.
  • Experience developing and managing portfolio roadmaps.
  • Experience evaluating initiatives based on strategic value, ROI, risk, demand, and capacity.
  • Portfolio-level financial management, investment planning, budgeting, and forecasting experience.
  • Experience with benefits realization, value tracking, and portfolio performance measurement.
  • Strong resource, risk, dependency, and change management experience.
  • Experience defining KPIs, maintaining dashboards, and conducting portfolio health assessments.
  • Executive-level reporting, presentation, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience leading steering committees and supporting strategic decision-making.

Work Details

  • Dallas corporate office.
  • Onsite daily during the training period.
  • Hybrid schedule with three days onsite after training is completed.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Eight-month contract.
  • Anticipated start as soon as possible
