Apply directFRS Recruitment are partnering with a well-established Irish main contractor to recruit a Project Manager for a major school extension project in Westmeath.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering a significant live education project, involving the construction of a substantial new extension and associated external works, while ensuring the existing school remains fully operational throughout the programme. The development will include multiple new classrooms, dedicated facilities, staff accommodation and associated site infrastructure.
The role is ideally suited to an experienced Project Manager with experience delivering commercial, education or public sector projects from pre-construction through to final handover, working closely with clients, consultants and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the project from pre-construction through to successful completion.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
- Coordinate design development and resolve technical queries.
- Deliver the project safely, on programme and within budget.
- Monitor commercial performance alongside the Quantity Surveying team.
- Chair regular progress meetings with clients and consultants.
- Maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety and quality.
- Report regularly to the Contracts Manager on project performance.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- Experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor.
- Full project lifecycle delivery experience from start to handover.
- Previous experience delivering education, commercial or public sector projects.
- Strong understanding of programme, commercial and quality management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing live site environments highly desirable.
- Irish/UK experience highly advantageous.
