Job Overview:
OEM Solutions is a specialized part of Ingersoll Rand that partners with manufacturers who build compressors into their equipment, providing critical airends, gasends, and system components that power performance across a wide range of industries. We are seeking an Application Engineer to join our team and help drive growth across our OEM product portfolio. Reporting to the Americas Leader for OEM Solutions, this professional will work closely with Sales Account Managers and customers to help integrate Ingersoll Rand products into customer machinery and applications. The Application Engineer serves as a key technical partner within the team, bringing strong mechanical aptitude, systems thinking, and problem-solving ability to support complex, customer-specific solutions.
The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, hands-on, consultative, naturally helpful, and comfortable working directly with customers. This role is well suited for someone who is self-driven, positive, outgoing, and energized by variety, shifting priorities, and new technical challenges. This is a highly visible, customer-facing technical role for someone who enjoys solving real-world engineering challenges, supporting complex equipment applications, and helping customers bring their products to life. You will provide engineering and technical support for single-stage and two-stage oil-lubricated rotary screw airends and associated components, as well as high-pressure reciprocating compressors and oil-free air compressor systems, including kits used across diverse and demanding applications. These applications include industrial air and gas compressors, portable compressors, fire and rescue equipment, blast hole and water well drill rigs, oil and gas equipment, commercial and military aircraft jet starters, and many other niche industries.

Responsibilities:
- Support customers with their application of our products by providing technical documentation, drawings, and applications advice during the evaluation and design phase of a customer’s new product development.
- Generation of Kit BOM’s and new part number creation of Kits and components.
- Drive new product idea generation and maintain technical files for customer applications.
- Engage on site with customers to support their development activities, provide input during their prototype testing, and assist with any troubleshooting.
- Enhance our Sales Account Manager team with technical presentations and the selection of the right products and solutions for OEM customer applications.
- Support existing OEM customers while working to support the development of new customers within the geographic territory of the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
- Support the aftermarket regarding selection of rebuild kits, airend parts, and compressor systems parts for OEM customers.

Requirements:

2+ years of experience within engineering or manufacturing or the mechanical service industry
Core Competencies:
- Self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to work independently to prioritize and pivot to meet the changing needs of the organization and collaborate effectively within business teams.
Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Mechanical Engineering degree is ideal
- 2+ years of experience with both Oil Free and Contact Cooled air compressor systems.
- Knowledge of Ingersoll Rand and Gardner Denver air compressor packages and airends.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving ability with strong relationship-building skills.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills
Travel & Work Arrangements
- This position will be based remotely.
- Potential travel up to 10% per year to customer sites primarily across North America.
Pay Range:
The total pay range for this role, including incentive opportunities, is $76,000 - $105,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive nondiscretionary annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
