Our client, a leading global insurance company, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their IT department.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the migration of Japan’s servers and applications to a cloud environment (GCP) from a network perspective. You will analyze and design network architecture components including routing, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers to ensure a smooth and successful migration.
In addition, you will be responsible for delivering and improving high-quality network services for Japan and global locations by collaborating closely with infrastructure teams, business units, IT departments, and external vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop network solutions related to GCP migration
- Create network designs and technical documentation aligned with global standards, and support global review processes
- Design, implement, and support network technologies including routing, switching, wireless networks, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, load balancers, and proxies
- Provide network support for cloud infrastructure environments such as AWS and GCP
- Provide escalation support for critical incidents and major project deliveries
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and manage solution implementation
- Collaborate with Japan business teams, IT departments, and global technology teams
- Identify and implement continuous improvements for network services
- Perform additional tasks required to enhance network reliability and service quality
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in network design, implementation, and operations within large enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with:
- Routing and switching
- Wireless networking
- Firewalls
- Load balancers
- Proxies
- DNS and DHCP
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions, such as:
- Juniper Mist
- Cisco ACI
- Experience supporting cloud infrastructure environments including AWS and/or GCP
- Experience working with complex domestic and global network environments (200+ sites)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Strong business communication skills in English
