Senior R&D Engineer

A unique opportunity for a Senior R&D Engineer to take ownership of complex product development projects and help bring innovative medical technologies from concept to commercialisation.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will drive product development activities across the full design lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs.

You will have the opportunity to lead projects, mentor engineers, and influence the development of innovative products within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of medical devices from concept through to design freeze and manufacturing transfer
• Manage technical projects to ensure milestones, budgets, timelines and deliverables are achieved
• Develop product specifications, materials, tooling, equipment and manufacturing processes
• Generate and oversee design verification activities, testing protocols and technical reports
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and design control requirements
• Drive effective transfer of products into manufacturing, including training and process validation support
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technical team members
• Collaborate across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory teams to solve technical challenges and support product development activities
• Continuously improve development processes to enhance efficiency, compliance and innovation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline
• 6+ years' experience within the medical device industry
• Proven experience in medical device product development and associated manufacturing processes
• Strong understanding of design controls, product development methodologies and regulated environments
• Demonstrated project management and technical leadership capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience working in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
