Software Engineer

Overview

Client is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Advanced Center for Experimentation and Simulation program. This role will develop software solutions supporting command and battle staff training using live, virtual, and constructive simulation assets, command-and-control systems, and Client/HLA gateways.

Core Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software solutions for business and mission requirements.
• Apply appropriate software development standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle.
• Analyze system capabilities, program requirements, input data, output requirements, programming techniques, and system controls.
• Correct software defects and prepare operating instructions and technical documentation.
• Work with computer hardware, software, application requirements, and information gathered from system users.
• Ensure software solutions comply with established standards.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline.
• Software engineering experience across the development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages:
  • C
  • Python
  • Java
• Experience with GitLab or an equivalent CI/CD tool.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems.

Preferred Skills or Experience

• Experience learning and implementing new tools or programming languages.
• Experience integrating new tools and technologies into established programs to improve software development process efficiency.
• Experience designing or developing GUI-based applications.
• Experience with live, virtual, and constructive simulation environments.
