About the Opportunity

Join an elite, agile engineering pod at a rapidly scaling proprietary trading firm during a critical phase of evolution. Having recently secured $15M in initial funding, our team is transitioning from paper trading to live execution and is seeking a high-output "grinder" to help build and refine our core systems. This is a "pirate ship" environment designed for engineers who thrive on extreme agency, ownership, and the challenge of building a sophisticated trading infrastructure from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture: Develop and optimize high-performance trading systems capable of handling strategies across multiple time horizons, from seconds to hours.

• Full-Cycle Engineering: Take complete ownership of engineering projects, moving from initial concept to live production environments with speed and precision.

• Performance Optimization: Drive step-level improvements in system reliability and data processing capabilities to support expanding trading operations.

• Collaborative Innovation: Work directly with a specialized team of quant researchers and developers to integrate advanced prompting and AI-driven workflows into the tech stack.

• Generalist Execution: Solve complex technical bottlenecks across the infrastructure, operating as a versatile engineer who can pivot between rapid prototyping and robust system hardening.

Requirements (Must-have)

• Technical Proficiency: Advanced engineering skills in Python, with a strong commitment to learning or utilizing C++ for performance-critical components.

• Relevant Experience: Proven track record in quantitative development or financial engineering within a reputable trading environment or fintech.

• Execution Mindset: A "hands-on builder" mentality with the ability to maintain high productivity in a fast-paced, early-stage startup setting.

• Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to take vague requirements and transform them into functional, high-impact technical solutions.

• Cultural Alignment: A high risk-tolerance and the desire to work in an intensive, "all-in" team culture where individual contributions directly impact the firm's P&L.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-have)

• Experience with AI integration or advanced prompting techniques within engineering workflows.

• Prior experience in mid-frequency trading (MFT) or strategies involving durations of seconds to hours.

• Background in building systems for newly launched funds or greenfield trading desks.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $250,000 – $300,000

• Variable Comp: Direct percentage of trading profits
