Japan Communications Manager
What you can expect
The Japan Communications Manager will serve as a key individual contributor, leading and elevating our public relations and external communications for Zoom in Japan. You will strengthen Zoom's corporate reputation and drive thought leadership. You will amplify narratives around AI-driven innovation, customer success, and partnerships to grow awareness and influence across the Japanese market. As part of the global Communications and Reputation team and the wider Marketing organization, you'll operate at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and relationship-building. You'll collaborate closely with the APAC Communications Lead, and partner with the Head of Japan. You'll also work with other senior leaders from Sales, GR, HRBP, AR manager, media, and industry stakeholders to bring Zoom's corporate vision to life in Japan.
About the Team
The Zoom Communications and Reputation Team crafts narratives that enhance Zoom's global reputation. It fosters media relationships and delivers effective communications for diverse audiences. Operating between global strategy and local insight, the team partners with marketing, government relations, and sales to amplify brand messages. This ensures communications align with business objectives and resonate in each market. Through collaboration and creativity, the team builds trust and drives growth using strategic storytelling. Their efforts keep Zoom's brand engagement meaningful, relevant, and prepared for continued success.
What we’re looking for
- Bring 7+ years of public relations and communications experience, including both in-house and agency roles, with a focus on technology, B2B, and corporate communications
- Have fluency in Japanese and English, both written and verbal
- Have senior-level media relationships in Japan and a proven ability to build new media connections and influencer networks
- Have experience managing crisis communications and navigating sensitive issues with sound judgment
- Have proven track record of working in global, multi-cultural environments, managing cross-border communications
- Have the ability to translate global brand and business priorities into locally resonant programs that drive measurable business outcomes
- Have a deep understanding of Japan's technology landscape and AI-related regulations
- Have a collaborative, hands-on team player who adapts quickly to evolving priorities and thrives in fast moving environments
