Medical Assistant (MA)

A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) for its Bronx location. This role supports both patient care and front office functions in an ambulatory outpatient setting while working closely with clinical staff and patients.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day 
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 9am to 5pm
• Setting: Ambulatory outpatient clinic

Responsibilities:

• Support providers and nursing staff with patient care and daily clinical workflow.
• Take and record vital signs, weight, height, and other routine assessments.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens as ordered.
• Assist with front office functions such as patient registration, scheduling, phones, and basic data entry as needed.
• Maintain patient flow, infection control standards, supply inventory, and accurate documentation in the EHR.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an Ambulatory setting
• High School Diploma / GED
• Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant program
• Certified Medical Assistant with national certification
• Current BLS certification or CPR certification
• Proficiency in phlebotomy
• Experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, and customer service skills

Desired Skills:

• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• EKG experience
• Experience supporting patients in Substance Use or Temporary Housing settings
• Experience working with diverse patient populations
