Project Description:
Our client, an innovative company in the aerospace industry, is looking for an experienced Senior Spacecraft Qualification Engineer (m/f/d) to support spacecraft production at its Berlin facility. In this role, you will take ownership of environmental qualification testing for spacecraft hardware while working closely with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure successful spacecraft verification and delivery.
Your Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and execute environmental qualification tests for spacecraft hardware
- Lead vibration, shock, thermal cycling and thermal vacuum test campaigns
- Monitor, evaluate and analyze environmental test data
- Investigate anomalies and develop technically sound recovery plans
- Validate test configurations, instrumentation and facility readiness
- Coordinate technicians and cross-functional engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and quality requirements
- Improve testing processes and operational procedures
- Prepare technical reports, anomaly investigations and engineering recommendations
- Provide technical guidance to engineering, manufacturing and quality teams
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Thermal Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Relevant experience in environmental or qualification testing of aerospace or flight hardware
- Hands-on experience with vibration, shock, thermal cycling and thermal vacuum testing
- Strong understanding of spacecraft environmental verification methodologies
- Knowledge of structural dynamics, vibration theory and thermal management
- Experience analyzing complex test data and resolving technical issues
- Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD and FEA or equivalent simulation software
- Independent and structured working style
- Excellent English communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience operating vibration shakers, thermal chambers or TVAC systems
- Experience with DAQ systems and instrumentation
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters and laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of Python, Raspberry Pi or Node-RED
- Experience with prototyping or machine shop environments
Framework Conditions:
- Location: Berlin, Germany (100% on-site)
- Duration: Long-term assignment
- Workload: Full-time (5 days/week)
