We are seeking an experienced and personable WHSE Manager to join a well established regional organisation that plays a critical role in supporting services to agricultural communities and environmental water management across the Southern Riverina region.

This is a key role responsible for driving safety culture, maintaining compliance, and continuously improving WHSE systems across a diverse operational environment

The Opportunity
As the WHSE Manager, you will be responsible for the function and lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of WHSE systems across office, field, and project environments. Your commitment and expertise will ensure safe and compliant operations across a geographically dispersed workforce and contractor network.

You will be responsible for:
  • Providing support, coaching, and expert advice to the senior leadership team, contractors, and frontline workforce
  • Maintaining and driving continuous improvement across WHSE management systems, policies, procedures, and related documentation
  • Overseeing and optimising the organisation’s safety and risk platform and WHSE intranet systems
  • Leading incident investigations using ICAM and 5 Whys methodologies, and ensuring corrective actions are completed and embedded
  • Conducting internal audits, inspections, JSAs, and supporting both internal and external audit processes
  • Coordinating and delivering WHSE reporting, including lead and lag indicators, monthly reporting, and executive presentations
  • Facilitating toolbox talks, safety meetings, inductions, and WHSE training across the organisation
  • Supporting psychosocial safety awareness and contributing to modern WHSE thinking across the business
About You
You are an experienced WHSE professional who thrives in autonomous roles and enjoys working across both strategic and operational environments. You are either living in Deniliquin or the surrounding areas, or have a strong appetite to relocate and join the community.

You are energetic and passionate, and can confidently engage and inspire improved safety culture with field teams, contractors, and senior leaders. You are approachable and supportive, and are able to build capability, trust, and engagement across the workforce. You are known for your practical, solution focused approach to safety.

You will bring:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in WHS or WHSE leadership roles
  • Qualifications in Work Health and Safety
  • Willingness to live in, or currently living in, Deniliquin or surrounds
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance frameworks, and safety systems
  • Experience in incident investigation (ICAM or equivalent)
  • Ability to connect, influence, and upskill all areas of the business to improve safety outcomes
  • Experience working in contractor heavy or field based environments
  • Current driver’s licence
