This position shall be held by an individual with the ability to provide Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Dietary Supplement expertise, leadership, direction, and support for Factory Manufacturing. Candidate will ensure compliance with all government food safety and dietary supplement regulations, GFSI third party audits, certification, and customer requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage on-going compliance and updates to HACCP/Food Safety Plans and Dietary Supplement Plans to meet current SQF/NSF requirements, FDA and FSMA regulations, as well as to all other State, Local, Regulatory, and third-party audit requirements.
- Manage Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams in the development and ongoing maintenance of plant quality systems to include the documentation of policies, procedures, internal audit programs, standard operating procedures, sanitation standard operating procedures, and documentation of product specifications.
- Provide site leadership for certifications (and execute where needed) to include internal audits, mock recall, mock crisis management exercises, food fraud and food defense risk assessments, Kosher audits, Organic audits, Gluten Free, Non-GMO, etc. to ensure compliance.
- Ensure full adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation activities to maintain high productivity and process/product integrity in a clean, food safe facility. Ensure the oversight of a comprehensive Environmental program.
- Manage in-process and finished product testing to comply with customer specifications; provide COA documentation when required.
- Lead the site in developing and sustaining a culture with Food Safety and Dietary Supplement compliance awareness.
- Provide and direct the training necessary to instill strong Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation and Food Safety/Dietary Supplement awareness amongst all site team members.
- Manage, lead, and engage teams in root cause problem solving, statistical process control activities, forward-thinking inspection, and preventive auditing skillsets.
- Remain up to date with current FDA guidance documents as well as changes to FSMA/GFSI requirements.
- Provide initial Quality, Food Safety, Dietary Supplement and Sanitation involvement, assistance and oversight until operation can support additional resources.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Strong Computer skills in MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of BS in Food Science or other related field.
- 8 plus years of progressive Quality Assurance experience in food and/or dietary supplement manufacturing to include Supervisory experience.
- HACCP certification required; PCQI certification desired.
- SQF practitioner (desired) with prior experience implementing, verifying, and validating programs compliant to GFSI requirements.
- Prior dietary supplement manufacturing highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing Quality policies and procedures, including Quality measurements and key performance indicators, root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Must have strong analytical skills and knowledge of statistical tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, etc.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
