Thermal Management Architect - Data Center

Data Center Thermal Systems Architect is a permanent direct FTE position
Location: Frisco, TX                  Schedule: 5 days onsite

Position Overview:

• This Senior Leader will lead thermal strategy for high-density datacenter environments supporting AI, HPC, cloud, GPU, and enterprise compute platforms.
• This role focuses on facility, row, rack, and component-level thermal design, with emphasis on scalable cooling architecture, energy efficiency, reliability, and serviceability.
• The ideal candidate is senior-level in cooling infrastructure, air and liquid cooling systems, rack-level thermal management, and thermal design for high-power compute environments.

Required Technical Background:

• Strong knowledge of data center thermal architecture, cooling infrastructure, and high-density compute environments.
• Experience designing or influencing cooling systems for enterprise, hyperscale, cloud, AI, or HPC data center platforms.
• Hands-on understanding of air cooling, liquid cooling, rack-level cooling distribution, heat transfer, and thermal performance optimization.
• Experience with direct-to-chip liquid cooling, immersion cooling, rear door heat exchangers, cold plate design, manifold and coolant distribution systems, rack-level cooling architecture, and advanced airflow or air containment strategies.
• Strong understanding of thermal challenges related to GPU platforms, accelerator systems, AI clusters, and dense server environments.
• Experience using thermal modeling, simulation, or analysis tools, including CFD or related platforms.
• Familiarity with server hardware, accelerator platforms, and system architecture considerations that impact thermal design.
• Working knowledge of modern data center and compute technologies (PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, InfiniBand, NVMe, NVMe-oF)
• Ability to evaluate full-system thermal performance, efficiency, reliability, maintainability, and operational trade-offs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD
• Minimum of 11 years in thermal architecture, data center cooling systems, mechanical design, or data center thermal engineering.
• Proven experience supporting cooling infrastructure for high-density data center platforms.
• Strong background in heat transfer, thermal analysis, cooling system design, and rack-level thermal management.
• Experience supporting AI, HPC, GPU, accelerator, or other high-power compute environments.
• Ability to influence technical decisions across engineering, product, infrastructure, and customer-facing teams.
• Experience working with data center operators, infrastructure providers, server manufacturers, hardware platform teams, or technology vendors.

• Strong system-level thinking with the ability to evaluate thermal challenges across the full infrastructure stack.
• Ability to simplify complex cooling and thermal requirements into practical architecture recommendations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
• Comfortable leading technical initiatives in fast-moving, high-growth infrastructure environments.

Estimated Min Rate: $126000.00
