Job Overview:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market share expansion for chiller and advanced cooling solutions within the data center industry. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and managing relationships with hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and edge data center customers, as well as influencers including consulting engineers, design firms, contractors, and key channel partners. The successful candidate will possess strong technical and commercial knowledge of HVAC and cooling systems, with a particular emphasis on mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve annual revenue and profitability targets for chiller products and cooling solutions in the data center market.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with hyperscale, colocation, cloud service providers, enterprise, and edge data center customers.
- Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with key customer stakeholders, including facility managers, engineering teams, procurement leaders, and C-suite decision-makers.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, customer engagement, and market intelligence gathering.
- Lead the sales process from opportunity identification through contract award and project handover.
- Understand customer requirements related to mission-critical cooling, energy efficiency, sustainability, uptime, and total cost of ownership.
- Position chiller solutions as preferred technologies for data center cooling applications.
- Support customers in evaluating cooling system designs and technology alternatives, including air-cooled, water-cooled, modular, and high-efficiency chiller solutions.
- Promote innovative cooling technologies supporting AI, high-density computing, and next-generation data center applications.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.
- Collaborate with consulting engineers, data center designers, general contractors, MEP firms, and EPC organizations to influence project specifications.
- Engage in early-stage project development to secure preferred vendor positioning.
- Work closely with application engineering teams to develop technical and commercial proposals.
- Monitor project pipelines and construction activity within assigned territories.
- Partner with product management, engineering, marketing, operations, and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide market feedback regarding product requirements, competitive activity, pricing trends, and emerging technologies.
- Support forecasting, sales planning, and CRM management activities.
Requirements:
- High School Dioplma
- 3+ years of sales experience in HVAC, cooling systems, chillers, data center infrastructure, or mission-critical environments.
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated success in consultative and solution-based selling.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience selling chillers, cooling solutions, CRAH/CRAC systems, liquid cooling, or thermal management solutions.
- Experience working with hyperscale, colocation, cloud, or enterprise data center customers.
- Familiarity with data center design and construction processes.
- Knowledge of AI-ready/high-density data center cooling requirements.
Preferences:
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, and data center cooling technologies.
- Knowledge of data center market dynamics, industry standards, and sustainability initiatives.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex solutions to both technical and commercial audiences.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 40-60% as required to support customer meetings, project sites, industry events, and partner engagement activities.
Pay Range:
The total pay range for this role, not including incentive opportunities, is $120,000 - $140,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
