Shift: 3rd Shift | 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM (Sunday night through Friday morning, with overtime as needed)

Environment: Food Logistics Office (Adjacent to Cold Storage Facility)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Shipping Clerk to join our 3rd shift logistics team at our Denton cold storage facility. In this role, you will manage the clerical flow of goods, processing essential shipping and receiving documentation during our critical overnight operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer proficiency, excellent organizational skills, and prior experience handling freight paperwork to keep our warehouse operations running smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Documentation Processing: Generates, verifies, and processes Bills of Lading (BOLs), master packing slips, shipping paperwork, and receiving documentation accurately.

• Data Entry & Tracking: Utilizes Microsoft Excel and warehouse database systems to input inventory transactions, log carrier arrival times, and track shipment status.

• Communication: Coordinates clearly via Microsoft Outlook, phone, and radio with overnight dispatchers, freight carriers, yard drivers, and warehouse floor personnel.

• Order Verification: Cross-checks physical load sheets and system manifests against carrier documentation to guarantee order and inventory accuracy before trucks depart.

• Schedule Maintenance: Monitors the overnight dock schedule, recording delays, missed appointments, or driver arrival discrepancies.

• Compliance & Housekeeping: Maintains organized digital and physical filing networks for all completed freight records, and keeps the shipping office neat, organized, and professional.

Qualifications

• Experience (Non-Negotiable): Proven shipping and receiving clerical experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment is strictly required.

• Technical Skills (Non-Negotiable): Strong computer skills with direct proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and standard office applications.

• Logistics Knowledge (Non-Negotiable): Prior hands-on experience handling Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping paperwork, receiving documents, and computerized inventory transactions.

• Core Competencies (Non-Negotiable): Exceptional attention to detail and sharp organizational skills to prevent document errors during high-volume overnight windows.

• Preferred Qualifications: * Direct experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP software, or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

  • Prior clerical experience within a cold storage, logistics, or food-grade facility.

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in an office setting adjacent to the warehouse, sit or stand for extended periods, and navigate the warehouse floor safely when coordinating with supervisors.

• Screening: Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and E-Verify screening.
