Position Summary
We are looking for a Bioprocess Design Engineer  to join our client, a top solutions provider of essential cleanroom products and services. The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of custom bioprocessing solutions used in pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing environments. This role maintains engineering drawings, manages revision control, supports tubing assembly projects, and collaborates with customers, suppliers, sales representatives, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.  The engineer will work closely with the Head of Bioprocessing Solutions to develop and maintain design documentation, identify process improvements, and support customer manufacturing applications. This position also plays a key role in supporting the company's ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and cleanroom-based assembly operations.  This position reports directly to the Head of Bioprocessing Solutions and the President.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design & Documentation
  • Create, update, and maintain bioprocessing system drawings and associated engineering documentation.
  • Manage drawing revisions and ensure accurate revision control in accordance with company quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and verify supplier part numbers, ensuring all components are accurately represented in engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Support the development and standardization of design documentation processes.
Process Improvement & Manufacturing Support
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and production teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Support cleanroom tubing assembly operations through engineering documentation, quoting assistance, and technical guidance.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements related to revision control, procurement, inventory management, and assembly processes.
  • Assist with supplier coordination and material management following customer order placement.
Customer & Technical Support
  • Provide technical support to customers regarding bioprocessing assemblies and manufacturing applications.
  • Troubleshoot process and product-related issues, working with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers and sales representatives to understand application requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Support quotation development by reviewing specifications and identifying appropriate components and assemblies.
Professional Development
  • Gain direct mentorship and hands-on experience from senior engineering leadership with extensive bioprocessing and product design expertise.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in bioprocessing and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Qualification Guidelines
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical is highly desired.
  • Enhanced proficiency with SolidWorks (CAD drawing program) preferred
  • Familiarity with working in ISO 9001:2015 organization, preferred
