Lodestone Recruitment are currently working in partnership with our client in Oldham who have a requirement for an Engineering Buyer. The company has had some big growth over the last 3 years which has seen them double in size and

  

Candidates should have the following experience to be considered for the role:

  • Experience as an Engineering Buyer, Junior Buyer or Procurement specialist in a similar procurement role ideally working in Engineering, Fabrication, Manufacturing, Steel or similar.
  • Responsible for purchasing materials, consumables and services in a timely, cost effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications. 
  • Be driven to make cost savings across the business being able to source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability and delivery speed.
  • Be good with developing relationships with key suppliers and build effective partnerships.
  • Developing and implement purchasing strategies for products and services maintaining the approved supplier list. Ensure all valid supplier certification is maintained in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ideally have Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS).
  • Good use and knowledge of procurement software to carry out day to day duties.


The offer for the role of the Engineering Buyer:

  • An excellent competitive salary - £30-35k
  • Hours - 8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday
  • Permanent position
  • Holidays - 25 days plus stats
