Mid-Level Interior Designer Melbourne | Full-Time | Hospitality Interiors

The Opportunity
An established, design-led architecture and interior design practice is seeking two Mid-Level Interior Designers to join its growing Melbourne studio. With a strong reputation for delivering innovative hospitality, education and commercial environments, the practice is recognised for combining creative design with exceptional technical delivery.

The interiors team plays a central role in every project, working collaboratively alongside designers project managers to deliver high-quality, thoughtfully detailed spaces. Due to a strong pipeline of work, the team is looking for designers who can contribute immediately while continuing to develop their careers within a supportive and highly collaborative studio.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that genuinely invests in its people, offering mentoring, clear career progression and exposure to a diverse range of projects.

About the Role
Working within an experienced interiors team, you'll support projects primarily through the documentation and Construction Administration phases, translating established design concepts into coordinated, buildable documentation while maintaining the integrity of the original design intent.

Projects are predominantly within the hospitality sector, including licensed venues, gaming facilities and hospitality fit-outs, with opportunities to gain exposure across education and other commercial interiors.

You'll collaborate closely with Project Managers, Associates and Project Leads to produce detailed documentation, models, renders and visualisations while coordinating consultants and ensuring projects are delivered to a consistently high technical standard.

This role is ideal for an Interior Designer who enjoys both the creative and technical aspects of project delivery and wants to continue developing their design capability rather than moving into a purely documentation-focused position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop approved design concepts into high-quality construction documentation.
  • Produce detailed documentation packages using Revit across all project stages.
  • Design, model and document directly within Revit while maintaining design intent.
  • Produce high-quality renders and fly-throughs using Enscape.
  • Prepare detailed joinery, finishes and documentation packages.
  • Coordinate documentation with consultants and the wider project team.
  • Assist during Construction Administration by responding to documentation queries and supporting project delivery.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, coordinated and construction-ready.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Contribute positively to the studio's collaborative culture.
Skills & Experience The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Approximately 3+ years' experience as an Interior Designer (more experienced candidates are also encouraged to apply).
  • Previous hospitality, commercial interiors or fit-out experience.
  • Strong Construction Documentation and Construction Administration experience.
  • Advanced Revit skills with the ability to design as well as document within the software.
  • Excellent Enscape modelling, rendering and visualisation skills.
  • Strong technical detailing and documentation capability.
  • Sound understanding of construction methods, detailing and buildability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Full Australian working rights.
About You
You're an Interior Designer with a genuine passion for design and technical excellence—not simply a Revit documenter.
You'll be someone who is:
  • Design-focused with a strong technical skillset.
  • Proactive, confident and eager to contribute from day one.
  • Curious and comfortable asking questions.
  • Collaborative and enjoys working within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Keen to continue learning and progressing your career.
The Team & Culture
You'll join a close-knit interiors team working within a highly collaborative studio environment where knowledge sharing, mentoring and teamwork are a genuine priority.
You'll work alongside experienced Associates, Project Leads and Senior Interior Designers who actively support junior and mid-level staff through mentoring and structured career development. While you'll have autonomy in your role, you'll never be working in isolation, with plenty of guidance available as you continue to grow.
The business values collaboration, open communication and a positive workplace culture, regularly bringing the team together through social events and studio initiatives.

Career Development
This position offers excellent long-term career opportunities, including:
  • Progression into a Senior Interior Designer role.
  • Exposure to a diverse range of hospitality and education projects.
  • Opportunities to take ownership of projects as your experience develops.
  • Ongoing mentoring from experienced Associates and senior leadership.
  • Gradual exposure to client meetings, consultant coordination and site-based responsibilities.
