Field Assistant - Contract to Permanent
Queensland Based Exploration Role

We’re working with a growing exploration company in Queensland that’s looking to appoint an experienced Field Assistant into a broader, all-round operational role.

This is not just a drilling support position. It’s a contract to permanent opportunity for someone who wants to take on more responsibility and grow with the business.

The Role

You’ll report to the field supervisor and support active exploration programs across multiple prospects, working closely with the geology team both in the field and behind the scenes.

The position combines hands-on field work with logistics, planning and contractor coordination.
 

• RC drilling support and sampling
• Drill core handling and yard management
• Reconnaissance field work and mapping support
• Supervising earthworks contractors and drill pad preparation
• Assisting with site logistics and planning
• Managing field equipment, consumables and sample dispatch
• Supporting warehouse and operational activities between field campaigns

Field trips will be up to two weeks at a time maximum, with a flexible and ad hoc roster (roughly 2/1 but will be some flexibility depending on program requirements)

When not in the field, you’ll be based either on break or in the Queensland warehouse assisting with preparation work, coordination and operational support.

About You
 

• Queensland based
• Previous exploration Field Assistant experience at a Senior level 
• Previous drilling exposure - RC and Diamond 
• Comfortable working around rigs and earthworks contractors
• Organised and capable of handling logistics and planning tasks
• Practical, hands-on and willing to take ownership
• Looking for longer-term stability and progression
• Willing to do a variety of tasks, be flexible and hands on 

This role would suit someone with at least 5 - 10 + years’ experience who wants to step up beyond pure field support and into a broader operational role.
