Summary of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supporting all Safeguards activities and programs for UUSA. Works in the area of Compliance. Interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and externally with governmental agencies. Adheres to the foundational behaviors, company values and UUSA behaviors.

Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• 1+ years of related worked experience in nuclear materials accountability, measurements, data reconciliation, regulatory compliance, inventory management, instrumentation, calibration, OR other technical regulated-industry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree, in a technical field
• 3+ years of direct work experience in a Safeguards related field. (In addition to educational requirements).

Job Details

• Work Location: UUSA, Eunice, NM/Hybrid – Can be up to 50% remote.
• Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. As determined by supervisor/ manager (as required by work location) (as directed) (core hours) Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
• Travel Required: 5% of the time or less as required
• Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and an L or Q level security clearance
• Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualification is required
• Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.

Primary Functions

Control Functions

• Implementation of the physical inventory program for source material (SM) and special nuclear material (SNM), including program planning, overall program oversight, and the compilation of all data collected
• Preparation, issuance, and revision of any instructions required for the performance of the physical inventory for SM and SNM in addition to the procedures
• Implementation of the item control program including periodic monitoring activities
• Performance of periodic facility design/configuration verification walk-downs
• Implementation of the Tamper Indicating Device (TID) program including periodic monitoring activities
• Performance of over-checks of the physical inventory data collected by the Nuclear Material Custodians.
• Performance of periodic facility surveillances and monitoring activities in support of the unauthorized enrichment program (UEP)

• Serve as the MC&A measurement control program coordinator, including oversight of MC&A measurements and implementation of the measurement control program
• Calculation and evaluation of shipper-receiver differences (SRDs)
• Calculation and evaluation of physical inventory statistics
• Verification that all measurement systems used to generate data for the physical inventory are in statistical control and that any measurements made on a measurement system that was out of control at the time are repeated using an acceptable measurement system

Compensation starting at: $86189 - $ 115876 / year and up dependent on candidate.
