Working across the Medical Ward and Emergency Department, you'll play a key role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager, leading clinical teams, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
About the Role
As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will:
- Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff across Acute Services.
- Coordinate daily patient flow, staffing and resource allocation.
- Support the operational management of the Medical Ward and Emergency Department.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
- Mentor and develop nursing staff to promote clinical excellence.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient safety outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, accreditation and infection prevention standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Act as Nurse Unit Manager when required.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated experience in acute medical nursing.
- Emergency nursing experience is highly regarded.
- Previous leadership or acting leadership experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- A passion for mentoring staff and delivering exceptional patient care.
- Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing, Acute Care or a related specialty.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Experience working within a rural or regional health service.
- Experience using electronic medical record systems.
