Client is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to support the migration of a software development network to an AWS GovCloud-based environment. This role focuses on establishing development environments, building and maintaining pipelines, and supporting Linux-based software development activities within a collaborative team environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in AWS GovCloud, GitLab pipeline development, Bash scripting, and software engineering practices, along with experience working across modern development and deployment toolsets.
Core Responsibilities
• Migrate a software development network to an AWS GovCloud-based system.
• Set up and maintain development environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate daily with team members to support development, integration, and deployment activities.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain software delivery processes and automation workflows.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Physics, or another Engineering or Science-related STEM discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of AWS GovCloud experience.
• Minimum 3 years of Bash scripting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of GitLab experience in a pipeline environment, including pipeline configuration and YAML development.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with C++ and Python.
• Expertise with AWS GovCloud, GitLab, Nexus, and Artifactory.
• Linux-based software development experience.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Skills or Experience
• Expertise with Jira and the Atlassian tool suite, including Bitbucket and Confluence.
• Experience with C++11 and object-oriented software development.
• Experience using CMake.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile product development environments.
• Experience developing software estimates.
• Ability to contribute process improvement ideas and support a culture of continuous improvement.
• Experience with GitLab pipeline troubleshooting.
• Ada development and software testing experience.
• Experience with Green Hills Compiler for Ada.
• Experience with AUnit for Ada unit testing.
• Experience with GNATMake.
• Experience with VectorCAST.
• Experience with CppUnit.
• Experience with Gcov and Gcovr.
• Comfortable working in a highly collaborative development environment, including occasional pair programming.
