Licensed Vocational Nurse - Flu

Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) needed for a seasonal flu clinic contract opportunity with Yoh’s well-known medical center client located in Fremont, CA. Weekday and weekend openings available!

This is a temp role supporting an annual vaccination program for employees and the community. Duties include vaccine administration, documentation, observation of patients after vaccination, inventory management, and ensuring an efficient flow through the clinic.

Must be able to commit to the entirety of the assignment:

Training/orientation for all staff:

• Friday August 21st (10am to 2pm)
• Friday Sept 18th (4 hours – TBD) - pending confirmation if needed
• Friday Sept 25th (8:00am to 12:00pm) - pending confirmation if needed

 
Weekend Shifts Available (2 weeks):

• Week # 1: 10:45am to 7:15pm - Sunday Sept 27th and Saturday Oct 3rd
• Week # 2: 5:45am to 2:15pm – Sun Oct 4th and Sat Oct 10th

 
Weekday Shifts Available (5 weeks):

• Week # 1: 10:45am to 7:15pm – Mon Sept 28th through Fri Oct 2nd
• Week # 2: 5:45am to 2:15pm – Mon Oct 5th through Fri Oct 9th
• Week # 3: 10:45am to 7:15pm – Mon Oct 12th through Fri Oct 16th
• Week # 4: 5:45am to 2:15pm – Mon Oct 19th through Fri Oct 23rd
• Week # 5: 11:45am to 4:15pm – Mon Oct 26th through Fri Oct 30th

Top Skills You Should Possess:

• Active/unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse license in state of California
• Must be confident giving injections
• Must be ok with standing for long periods of time and working in a fast-paced environment

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Administer the flu vaccine
• Provide wellness materials/information
• Documentation in EMR and vaccine tracking systems
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Assist with clinic setup, workflow management, and vaccine supply organization
• Escalate any medical concerns to the RN, NP, PA, or physician

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• BLS/CPR certified
• Yearly 2 Step TB (PPD) or QuantiFERON Gold test
• Proof of immunization/titer records for MMR & Varicella
• Strong organizational skills and good at multi-tasking as this is a fast-paced clinic
• Positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and must be a team player
