ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is an established Pacific-based construction and infrastructure contractor delivering civil, commercial, utilities and social infrastructure projects in remote island environments.

They have a strong track record of working with local communities, government partners and project teams to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes.

As their presence in the Pacific continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to help support key projects in this evolving region.

THE ROLE:
You’ll be supporting electrical project delivery in a remote, working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, clients, consultants, local companies, local trades and wider project stakeholders.

The role includes:

• Supporting electrical engineering and technical project delivery.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinating electrical works with site teams and subcontractors.
• Building positive working relationships with local companies, local trades and community-based stakeholders.
• Supporting installation, testing, commissioning and quality checks.
• Assisting with planning, scheduling and sequencing of electrical works.
• Monitoring safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Identifying and helping resolve technical issues on site.
• Supporting project reporting, documentation and communication.
• Liaising with consultants, clients, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Helping drive successful delivery from site setup through to completion.

This role will suit someone who is technically strong, practical, organised and confident working in a remote project environment where communication, planning and follow-through are critical.

This is a permanent 2-year FIFO opportunity for an Electrical Engineer.

This is not your standard local electrical engineering role. You’ll be working in a remote Pacific Island environment where logistics, planning, communication and practical problem-solving are just as important as technical capability.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer who can support construction and infrastructure project delivery in a remote, high-output environment.

You will need:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer on construction, infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Electrical engineering qualification.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, specifications and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting installation, testing, commissioning and quality processes.
• Ability to coordinate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence working in a site-based role where priorities can change quickly.
• A practical approach and the ability to help keep work moving safely and accurately.
• Flexibility, resilience and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.
• Good fitness levels for hot and humid work conditions.
• You must be IT literate, have strong attention to detail, be able to follow instructions and be comfortable completing detailed paperwork.

Previous experience in remote locations, offshore projects, Pacific Island projects, water treatment, renewable energy, infrastructure or FIFO-style environments would be highly regarded.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Before applying, please note:

• This is a permanent 2-year FIFO role based in the Pacific Islands
• The expected roster is 8 weeks on site / 2 weeks off back in New Zealand.
• Candidates must hold a current New Zealand Passport.
• Candidates must be currently and permanently based in New Zealand.
• You must be genuinely open to long-term FIFO work from New Zealand.
• You must be comfortable working in a remote Pacific Island environment.
• You must be able to pass pre-employment checks, including medical, drug and alcohol, and police checks.
• A full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence is required.
