This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, Australian-owned technology and services business with a strong national footprint and a genuine passion for its people.

With 80 stores across Australia and approximately 350 employees, the business operates across retail, technology and customer service, providing specialist telecommunications and electronic repairs alongside a growing range of technology products and accessories.

With continued growth and an evolving business, they are now looking for an experienced HR Lead to take ownership of the HR function and help elevate and shape what comes next.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and practical execution, with the opportunity to shape, elevate and continue to mature the HR function, building on the foundations in place while introducing greater structure, consistency and best practice across the employee lifecycle.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the HR Lead will take ownership of the full HR function and lead a small HR team - a Recruitment Coordinator and HR & WHS Coordinator. Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement a HR strategy aligned to the organisation's growth and business objectives
• Partner closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team on people priorities
• Lead, coach and develop the existing HR team
• Provide trusted advice and support across employee relations, performance management and workplace matters
• Strengthen performance management, capability development and leadership practices
• Oversee recruitment and onboarding, ensuring a strong candidate and employee experience
• Drive employee engagement, recognition and retention initiatives
• Review and enhance HR policies, processes and systems
• Ensure strong employment compliance and sound HR governance
• Oversee WHS in partnership with the WHS & HR Coordinator
• Identify opportunities to improve HR systems (Employment Hero), reporting, use of AI, and people data
• Develop training and development initiatives across the business
• Support the continued development of a positive, connected and high-performing culture

This is a role where you will be encouraged to look at what is working, identify where things can be improved and make meaningful change.

About You

You will be an experienced HR professional with leadership experience who enjoys operating across both the strategic and hands-on sides of HR.
You will bring:

• Proven experience in an HR leadership, HR Manager or senior HR partnering role
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices
• Experience working across employee relations, performance, recruitment, engagement and compliance
• The ability to confidently coach and influence managers and senior leaders
• A practical, commercially minded approach to HR
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The confidence to operate autonomously and take ownership of the HR agenda
• A continuous improvement mindset and an interest in building better people processes
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with being comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting things done

Importantly, you will be someone who genuinely cares about people. You will be approachable and authentic, while also having the confidence to provide clear, commercially sound advice when it matters.

Experience within a multi-site, retail, hospitality, service or other operationally focused environment is important.
