Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist III to support TurboTax’s CRM and lifecycle marketing initiatives. In this strategic role, you will partner closely with marketing stakeholders to define critical business metrics, uncover actionable insights, and drive performance improvements that directly influence business growth. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, business acumen, and a passion for transforming data into compelling stories and strategic actions.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL: crafting complex queries for data extraction and transformation from relational databases
- Expertise in data visualization tools such as Qlik Sense for building dashboards and reports
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (e.g., Superglue, Alteryx, Informatica, dbt, Airflow)
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, A/B testing, regression modeling, and forecasting techniques
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or R for advanced analysis and automation (preferred)
- Familiarity with customer lifecycle marketing concepts, KPIs (open rate, CTR, churn, LTV), segmentation, and personalization strategies
- Ability to design and interpret experiments to optimize campaigns
- Knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., Braze) and data integration methodologies
- Experience in creating dashboards, data storytelling, and translating insights for non-technical audiences
- Understanding of data governance, KPI frameworks, and AI-enabled process automation
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with AI agent workflow automation and prompt engineering
- Familiarity with AI/ML model deployment and validation in marketing contexts
- Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt
- Knowledge of multi-channel campaign management (email, push, SMS, in-app messaging)
- Exposure to customer journey analytics and cohort analysis
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or marketing data analysis, preferably within a technology or SaaS environment
