Resource Classroom

• Elementary: Students primarily remain in general education classrooms and receive push-in or pull-out support based on need.
  • Caseload: Up to 25 students
  • Group size (pull-out): Typically 5–8 students
• Middle/High School: Resource support is built into students’ daily schedules.
  • Caseload: Up to 25 students (with as many as 75 daily contacts)
  • Class size: Max of 17 students

Structured Level 1 & Level 2

• Level 1: Higher-functioning students; may mainstream up to 40% of the day
  • Caseload: Up to 9 students
• Level 2: Higher needs; many students are non-verbal and receive speech/OT services
  • Caseload: Up to 8 students
• Primary population: Students with autism
• Key focus: Highly structured environments with consistent routines
• Note: Behaviors are common due to sensitivity to environmental triggers

LFI (Learning for Instruction) – Levels 1–3

• Population: Students with medical conditions impacting cognitive and/or physical development
• Level 1: Higher-functioning; some mainstreaming
• Level 2–3: Increasingly significant needs
  • Level 3: Often non-verbal, may be immobile, and may require medical support (e.g., seizure monitoring, diabetes care)
• Caseload: Typically 8–15 students depending on level

Connections (ED Program)

• Students are developmentally typical but require behavioral support
• Focus: Structured environment using the Boys Town Model (positive behavior reinforcement system)
• Caseload: Up to 12 students
• Middle/High School: Students rotate between teachers for academic instruction
