Water Treatment Engineer – FM Service Provider – Central London – £48,000 + Overtime
Exciting opportunity to join a leading FM Service Provider as a Water Treatment Engineer, based at a prestigious commercial high-rise building in Central London. CBW Staffing Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced engineer to take ownership of all water treatment, water hygiene and closed loop systems across the site — covering cooling towers, domestic hot & cold water systems, and heating & chilled water systems. This is a critical compliance-focused role in a landmark building, offering stability, no call out, and genuine room to grow, develop and progress.

Package & Working Hours
- £48,000 per annum + overtime
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
- No call out

- Manage and monitor all cooling towers and evaporative cooling equipment
- Ensure full compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274 Part 1 and site-specific Water Management Plans
- Conduct routine inspections, sampling, dip slides and performance monitoring
- Oversee cleaning, disinfection and shutdown/start-up procedures
- Manage specialist water treatment contractors and maintain all statutory records
- Support Legionella risk assessment reviews and corrective actions
- Manage domestic water systems throughout the building
- Complete statutory temperature monitoring regimes
- Inspect calorifiers, storage tanks, expansion vessels and associated assets
- Carry out flushing programmes in low-use areas
- Review microbiological and chemical sampling results
- Disinfection and chlorination of mains water and hot & cold water systems
- Keep asset records, schematics and compliance documentation up to date
- Responsible for multiple secondary and tertiary systems: chilled water, heating hot water (LTHW), condenser water, and pressurisation/expansion systems
- Water quality monitoring, sampling and analysis
- Corrosion, scale and microbiological control
- Chemical dosing management and inhibitor level reviews
- Side stream filtration monitoring
- Coordination of flushing and commissioning activities
- Identify system inefficiencies and energy-saving opportunities
- Act as the site's Responsible Person (Water) where required
- Ensure compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274 Parts 1 & 2, COSHH and Water Fittings Regulations
- Produce monthly compliance and performance reports; support client, insurer and regulatory audits
- Basic plumbing — repairing pipework, leaks and small jobs such as dead leg removal
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a large commercial building or estate
- Proven experience managing cooling towers and evaporative cooling systems
- Strong understanding of domestic water compliance programmes
- Experience with closed loop heating and chilled water treatment
- Experience working with water treatment specialists and laboratories, and interpreting chemical & microbiological analysis reports
- Demonstrable knowledge of Legionella control requirements and relevant legislation
- Legionella Responsible Person (C&G Accredited) – HSG274 Part 2
- C&G Legionella Control & Management of Hot and Cold Water Services and Evaporative Cooling Systems (WH010) – HSG274 Part 1
- CABWI Level 3 Diploma in Water Treatment or equivalent
- City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing
- C&G Risk Assessment for Legionella and Water Hygiene Control (WH004)
- C&G Accredited Responsible Person (Water)
- IOSH Managing Safely
- COSHH awareness, risk assessment training and permit to work experience
