Position Overview:
Aequor is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (MOCI) to support students with Moderate Cognitive Impairments at Edsel Ford High School. This classroom serves approximately 8 – 10 students and focuses on delivering individualized instruction that promotes academic, functional, social, and independent living skills in a supportive learning environment.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: August 19, 2026
- End Date: June 11, 2027
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Hours: 37.5 billable hours per week
- Location: Edsel Ford High School, Dearborn, MI
- Class Size: 8 - 10 students
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals.
- Provide differentiated instruction based on individual learning needs.
- Collect and document progress monitoring data.
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families.
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and district special education requirements.
- Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Valid Michigan Special Education certification.
- Cognitive Impairment (CI) endorsement required.
- Previous experience working with students with cognitive impairments preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
