This role is for a Systems Integration & Test Engineer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and validating complex hardware/software systems, subsystems, and components. The engineer will support both in-house developed and commercial/government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) solutions, ensuring systems meet customer requirements, technical specifications, and performance expectations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, system-level testing, electrical measurements, troubleshooting, and hardware/software integration. Experience with RF/Microwave systems, test equipment development, and aerospace/defense environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Systems Integration & Testing
- Plan, execute, and support integration and test activities for complex systems, subsystems, and components.
- Develop test solutions based on customer requirements while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Integrate hardware and software components to ensure overall system functionality.
- Define system inputs, outputs, interfaces, and performance requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware/software interface issues during integration activities.
Test Development & Execution
- Develop, modify, and maintain automated test programs using:
- LabVIEW
- NI TestStand
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Develop test strategies to verify and validate system performance.
- Analyze test results and generate detailed technical reports.
- Perform regression testing after software, hardware, or subsystem updates.
Requirements & Documentation
- Translate system and customer requirements into test procedures and validation methods.
- Develop technical documentation including:
- Test procedures
- Work instructions
- Status reports
- Engineering documentation
- Test results and evaluation reports
- Identify discrepancies between drawings, requirements, and actual hardware configurations.
- Support corrective and preventative action activities.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Analyze test failures and identify root causes.
- Troubleshoot issues related to:
- Test equipment
- Software
- Hardware interfaces
- Fixtures
- Units under test (UUT)
- Develop corrective actions and verify fixes through testing.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Systems Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Program Management
- Test teams
- Lead and coordinate test activities to support program milestones.
- Provide technical updates and presentations regarding issues, solutions, and test results.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in one of the following:
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Related technical discipline
Equivalent professional-level experience may be considered.
Required Experience
Software & Test Development
- 5 years experience with LabVIEW
- Writing, editing, and maintaining existing software code
- Developing test applications
- Supporting automated test environments
- 3 years experience with NI TestStand
- Developing and maintaining test sequences
- Supporting automated test programs
- Debugging test failures
Engineering Experience
- 3 years experience troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
- Experience analyzing test data and determining root cause.
- Experience managing multiple priorities independently.
- Experience working in a team-based engineering environment.
- Experience supporting milestone-driven projects.
Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create technical documentation and reports.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

RF / Microwave Background
- 5 years as a subject matter expert in:
- Radio Frequency (RF)
- Microwave systems

- Signal measurement techniques
Advanced Test Development
- 3 years developing complex automated test systems using TestStand.
- Experience designing electrical test solutions for:

Test Equipment & Hardware
- Experience selecting and integrating test equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues down to:
- Test instrument level
- Fixture level

- Test documentation
- Engineering change documentation
Additional Preferred Skills
- Corrective Action / Preventative Action (CAPA) experience.
- Experience deriving test requirements from system/design requirements.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to prepare technical presentations and trade studies.
