Role Overview
- Position Type: Full Time Permanent
- Position of Leadership: POL 3
- Start Date: Term 1, 2027 (January)
- Location: Melbourne's Northern Suburbs
- Subject Areas / Year Levels: English, Years 7-12
- Reports to: Campus Principal
- Salary: $89,218 to $127,692 (inclusive of $9,629 POL allowance)
- Lead the Secondary English learning area across Years 7 to 12, overseeing curriculum planning, assessment design, moderation and data analysis in line with the Victorian Curriculum and VCAA requirements
- Mentor and support English teachers in delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons that reflect contemporary, evidence-informed teaching practice
- Use student outcomes data to set goals and targets for improved English results, designing improvement strategies and interventions across junior, middle and senior year levels
- Coordinate the annual review of English courses, assessments and teaching methods, and manage the learning area budget and annual booklist
- Support new and beginning teachers in the English learning area with assessment, reporting and curriculum requirements
- Actively promote the English learning area at college events including Open Days and subject selection information sessions across Years 7 to 12
You're a qualified teacher who:
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
